Independence’s New Team Pushing Issues forward
Thursday, 7th November 2019
Cambridge-based Independence Educational Publishers have undergone significant changes to their small team over the last 12 months.
Following years of an unchanged team, long-term and highly-respected researcher and office administrator Mary Chapman and her old school friend Sandra Dennis, who undertook copyright and editorial responsibilities, both retired.
Mary was replaced by Shelley Baldry, who also picked up Sandra’s copyright work, and with editorial assistant Danielle Lobban coming on board to take on Sandra’s other responsibilities.
Finally, our valued managing editor Cara Acred left to bring up her new family.
Realnet’s Managing Director for 7 years, Kari Sewell, has come in to provide team leadership and company management.
His experience with online web applications at Realnet is also a bonus for Independence as the company continues to progress Issues Online as the leading safe online resource for research into social issues.
Independence has also added Tracy Biram as the new editor, and she has also settled in well.
Despite the transitions, Independence has built a new team who are pushing Issues and Issues Online forward, and the forecast for the future continues to look bright.
